The 10/22 flash hider and combo unit, slip on the barrel and front sight and is held in place with a set screw. 

Please note that flash hiders may only be installed on Post 9/13/94 rifles that do not have a pistol grip or bayonet lug. It is illegal to have a flash hider on any rifle manufactured or imported after Sept 13, 1994 that has a pistol grip or bayonet lug. If you do have a pistol grip stock or bayonet lug on your weapon, consider installing a muzzle brake instead.
