Moisture, temperature, recoil energy and repeated firings are all big enemies of even the best wood stocks, and killers of accuracy. Bell and Carlson stocks, constructed using hybrid composite materials called Carbelite™ and proprietary manufacturing techniques called Fusion, can eliminate those problems.

These composites, including Kevlar®, fiberglass, graphite, epoxy gel coats and laminating resins; and polyurethane reinforcement with milled fiberglass, provide a warm and solid feel rather than the hollow, toy like impression one gets from injection molded stocks often use the terms such as composite of synthetic and sometimes even terms such as Rynite or Cyloloc. But their process is much different and produces a completely different stock much less expensive to manufacture.

All Bell & Carlson stocks, unless indicated otherwise, are designed to permit the customer to simply remove the barreled action from the original stock and bolt it into the Bell & Carlson stock. These "drop- in" stocks are designed to last a lifetime with no maintenance required. Because of variations in manufacturers' original equipment, it may be necessary to remove minimal amounts of material from the magazine area. Most factory barreled actions will bolt into a Bell & Carlson stock with the barrel free- floating ; however custom contoured barrels may need some fitting which can be accomplished with standard woodworking tools. Bell & Carlson does offer factory installation at an additional charge.

All Bell & Carlson stocks are available in any of the durable finishes listed on the following pages. Additionally, all stocks come with a premium recoil pad and sling swivel studs. A Pachmayer ® Decelerator® recoil pad is standard on some models and optional on others. Glass bedding, though not necessary, is optional, as well as pillar bedding and a full aluminum bedding chassis on certain models.

The weight of Bell & Carlson stocks vary due to the large variety of models and sizes. Most hunting and varmint models weigh about 2.25 pounds. Tactical and one piece military models range from 3 to 4.5 pounds. 10/22 models are less than 2 pounds. Two piece models weigh about 2 pounds.

Bell and Carlson stocks are reliable over a temperature range of -50ºF to + 150ºF. All stocks are covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
