The 6X-24X XTR is offered in either the Fine Plex or Ballistic Mil-Dot
reticle configurations. The Fine Plex, with a very fine central
crosshair is recommended for shooting extreme distances at small targets
in fair to good lighting conditions when a shooter plans to fully
utilize the XT-1000 knobs for all elevation and windage compensation.
The Ballistic Mil-Dot is recommended when a shooter does not mind fixing
the magnification to a single power (roughly 14X) for long range
shooting from 200 to 700 meters. With a bit of shooter involvement to
find the optimum sight-in distance and magnification, the Ballistic
Mil-Dot can simplify and speed the engagement process by providing six
additional hold-over references on the reticle for long distances
without the need to adjust the elevation knob |
