The Point Guard has been Pat’s most popular
seller for several years, being particularly popular with elite fighting
forces, including the Navy SEALS, Army Special Forces, DEA, FBI and Secret
Service. This year Columbia River Knife and Tool has added it to their
line of tactical folders. Their version is true to Pat’s design in every
way, incorporating their rock-solid ‘overbuilt’ construction methods:
420J2 double stainless steel liners, 6061 hard anodized aluminum back
spacer, Torx® fasteners, Teflon® bearings and Zytel® scales. An integral
part of the Point Guard is the patented ‘Lake And Walker Knife Safety’
(LAWKS®) to provide lock security under extreme use.
The modern Point Guard design is slim and trim, with no excess. There is just enough handle to hold the blade. Holes and slots are incorporated to minimize handle weight and located so that frame strength is not reduced. The rear of the handle is rounded to maintain the minimal profile, which permits the knife to be held comfortably regardless of hand size. At top rear of the handle are friction grooves that create greater control in both natural and reverse grips. The drop point blade is AUS6M stainless at 55-57 Rc., hollow ground for a better cutting edge. An ambidextrous thumb disk accommodates one hand opening. A removable, black Teflon-plated, custom designed pocket clip is standard. Available in two sizes. |
