Leupold was first with Torx®

We were the first U.S. mount maker to offer the Torx® drive system. Unlike old-fashioned hex-head screws, the deep-engaging lobe design won’t strip screw heads or distort drivers. The Torx system makes more efficient use of your driving force so you can tighten screws far more securely, which translates into increased confidence.

It takes 20-in lbs of torque to tighten a base screw properly (13-in lbs for ring screws), but hex-head screws will strip, or the driving wrench will distort, before that much torque can be achieved. The Torx system can withstand all the torque necessary to seat base screws properly.

Every Leupold mount system sold includes Torx head screws and a Torx driver.
