| A. O. Niedner, an early
20th-century gunsmith and rifle maker, is the name that most often
comes up when discussing checkered steel buttplates and grip caps.
Today we produce essentially the same product, but advanced technology
makes them equally as affordable as the original hand-made models of
that time. Key features on these parts are 24 lines per inch
checkering, a 1/16" border and a pointed "heel spur" on the top of the
buttplate. Both parts come blued and include the attaching screws. |
