The "Snake" fluted barrel is completely unique to the target barrel market. The flutes are positioned around the barrel to give unsurpassed rigidity and longitudinal stiffness. The "Snake" flutes also increase surface area to help in cooling. It provides considerably more surface area than a conventional straight flute of the same length. The "Snake" flute is not a spiral (helical) flute nor is it a straight conventional flute but a completely new, unique method of cut fluting. This fluting is not only cut for its functional purposes but also gives the barrel a completely new appearance. The forward blow comp is another added feature on the "Snake" barrel. This comp is designed to direct gases and noise away from the shooter. As with all Volquartsen barrels, this digitally gauged barrel features a match chamber, bore and crown to assure the utmost in accuracy.
